Harlan Community Middle School along with the High School, are 1-1 technology schools, where every student is issued their own laptop computer. Our responsibility is to not only prepare students with knowledge based on the Iowa Core Curriculum, but to incorporate tools that they will be using in the workplace of the 21st century.
The staff of HCMS realizes that the academic success of middle school students is highly dependent on the development of their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs. Our staff will do everything possible to make sure that every student succeeds, is valued, and has their educational and social emotional needs met.
We encourage every student to get involved in an extra or co-curricular activities while at HCMS. Clubs, Student Leadership, fine arts, and athletics are all ways for students to find their niche at school. Research overwhelmingly supports that students who are connected and involved in school perform at a higher level. By joining our academic and co-curricular activities together, we create a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding learning environment for our students.
We realize that educating your child can only be done in partnership with you. If you have any questions, please feel free to call my office at: 712-755-3196 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
