Launch the media gallery 1 player - media #3Accounting I and College Accounting students had an excellent learning experience this Monday through the Lunch and Learn Symposium that Chad Swanson put together for them.
Three Omaha businesspeople (2 HCHS alumni and one whose parents came from the district) were on a panel and answered a variety of questions from the kids. The life advice they gave was superb and the students were completely engaged in the experience the entire time. There was some great discussion on creating a business, but I thought the biggest takeaways kids likely had was to learn from mistakes, show grit and give effort, and be kind to everyone.
They talked about the advantage our students have in being from a small town and Harlan and in general, had so much leadership and business experience to convey to the students.
