Elementary First Quarter Update

Starting off a school year  is always an exciting time at the elementary school.  It’s a time of rekindling old friendships and the excitement of making new acquaintances. Of course, learning of the core curriculum is the top priority, but there are also an abundance of other wonderful learning opportunities. These include things like; Carsten’s Farm field trip, Special Olympics, Fall Music Programs, Veteran’s Day programming, and the many community entities who share their time and talents with the school age kids.

More specifically, the elementary guidance program is second to none. An example is the elementary school Kindness Club.   Our Elementary Kindness Club is off spreading kindness to students and staff. Below is a picture of our club members delivering hot beverages (hot chocolate or coffee) to Elementary staff!

The 5th grade is working with the Iowa State Extension in order to provide information to students about farm safety. Not only is this a great partnership, but the information is invaluable to our students as they grow with our agricultural community.

As you can see, each day at the elementary school is a new and exciting learning adventure.
